Principal Scientist

Lindino Benedet is a founding partner and serves as the Principal Scientist of CPE with over 20 years of professional experience dedicated to coastal engineering and related fields. Dr. Benedet specializes in process-based numerical modeling of coastal processes, dredging, beach nourishment, flooding simulations, vulnerability analysis, evaluation of flood mitigation/SLR adaptation strategies, hydrology, water quality, meteorological and oceanographic measurements, and marsh and barrier island restoration. He has led many coastal studies for state and local governmental agencies in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina as well as internationally. Dr. Benedet is also very active in coastal research. He is an Associate Editor for ASBPA’s Shore & Beach and the Journal of Coastal Research, has published dozens of papers in international journals, and often collaborates with academia to investigate current coastal research topics.
